812 is classified as an "engine" or "pumper" because it has a water tank and its own pump. 812 also carries all the equipment needed to perform firefighting duties and some rescues. 812 can carry up to 4 firefighters and has an enclosed cab. At the present time engine 812 and 813 take turns being the first out engine. By rotating the engines every 4 months they both will last longer.
