The Herrin Fire Department is a small combination department.  We have 11 full-time personnel and also 12 volunteer Firefighters. Our full-time personnel consists of a Fire Chief and Asst. Fire Chief who both work Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. Our other 9 full-time firefighters work a 24 hour shift followed by 48 hours off. Each shift consist of 1 captain and 2 firefighters.To meet our full-time staff CLICK HERE 

    Our Volunteers/paid-on-call firefighters all have other jobs but are trained in firefighting just like the full-time firefighters. The Volunteers are here to assist us in our firefighting and rescue duties. To meet our volunteer staff CLICK HERE.
